The International Association of Online Communicators (IAOC) had its coming-out party October 26 at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) international conference in New York City. The new organization presented a professional development workshop entitled "Straight Talk about Blogging and PR" moderated by IAOC co-founder, Steve O'Keefe, with B.L. Ochman, blogmaster and publisher of whatsnextonline.com, and Steve Rubel, blogmaster of micropersuasion.com.

This was IAOC’s first public event since its incorporation on September 9. The idea for IAOC had been floating in cyberspace for well over a year, finally achieving official existence thanks to a grant from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.

Up Next: IAOC BlogFest, November 8 – 12

Appropriately, the next IAOC event is online and on blogging. This maiden voyage by IAOC into the world blogosphere has been billed the Thrilla' in Mozilla. Over the course of five days (November 8-12), IAOCblog.com will feature one blogging expert each day, with moderator Steve O’Keefe refereeing the contenders.
