In our continuing series on Top Internet PR Resources, this next week we are looking for your recommendations for Top Online Article Syndication Resources. Once again, we're looking for FREE tools or articles people can use to help them with Online Article Syndication.
Online article syndication is a very powerful tool for raising awareness, improving inbound links, improving search engine rank, and establishing yourself as a leader in your filed. Some "signature articles" have appeared on hundreds of web sites. I'll go so far as to say that one good signature piece -- say, on "permissions marketing" or "long tail" or "the millionaire next door" -- can propel a person to the top of their field and generate hundreds or thousands of responses every year.
So this week we are looking for your suggestions. Please provide reviews of 500 words or less. Or point us to a link and my Tulane students will be reviewing some of the resources you point us to.
Thanks for Your Help,
STEVE O'KEEFE

Re: Post Your Picks for Top Online Article Syndication Resources
In my work for book publishers, I often syndicate excerpts from new books. Every outing involves a stop at Internet e-zine guide, "Topica."
Topica <http://lists.topica.com/> is an excellent place to find Internet mailing lists devoted to any given subject. Successor to Liszt, one of the best mailing list finders ever. Through Topica, you should be able to find a few e-zines willing to run your article, no matter how obscure the topic is. Re: Post Your Picks for Top Online Article Syndication Resources

The article I am reviewing is titled “Syndicating Your Articles: Pros and Cons,” written by Christopher Heng.
If you wish to read this article, the URL is below: http://www.thesitewizard.com/archive/syndication.shtml This article (and Web site!) is a great resource for understanding the benefits and drawbacks that come with syndicating your articles online. Christopher Heng briefly covers the “traditionally cited advantages” of syndicating: brand-name awareness, attracting visitors to your site, increasing your page rank on Google. The “downsides” to syndicating he mentions are: obsolescence, unauthorized modifications, revenue, mirroring problems, association with Spam. Heng brushes on “who benefits most from syndicating articles,” before launching into a rather thorough analysis of how to “avoid the problem of obsolescence” (with JavaScript code). He offers advantages and disadvantages of this JavaScript method, before concluding with an overview of “should you syndicate your articles?” I found this Web site and article helpful because it’s straightforward, concise, and offers a quality selection of other links and articles regarding online article syndicating and services available for the novice to the professional. Website: http://www.answers.com/topic/news-aggregator Yes, I know this is not a trade site or even one to base any sound decisions upon but after reading the information offered about web syndication on Answers.com I felt as if I'd gained a better understanding of just what "syndication" in the cyber world means. This site begins by defining in simple terms what it means to have syndicate an srticl online. It then offers the benefits syndicated sites offer to the consumer. The Answers.com site does give a quick wash-over of this topic but after reading it I felt like I got the cliff notes version of a mildly complex subject and that satisfied me. Re: Re: Post Your Picks for Top Online Article Syndication Resources
Thanks for the suggestion. I'd like to add that the article you found at Answers.com is mostly about RSS or Real Simple Syndication -- a technological way to syndicate news stories that underpins blogs. The article is a good introduction to RSS.
