Iceland’s dramatic and violent geological history created its surreal and spectacular landscapes, born of volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and glaciers to create jagged lava fields, magnificent waterfalls, winding rivers, majestic sea cliffs and pure fresh air.
Positioned close to the Arctic Circle, with endless summer sun and eerie Northern lights, Iceland presents its timeless beauty on a stage set for adventure.
Pure and Natural
There is quite possibly no other place on Earth that is as safe and uncontaminated as Iceland. Its air and water are virtually pollution-free. No smog from traffic congestion or other pollutants. Traffic jams are nearly unheard of, as most residents commute just ten minutes from home to office. The water is so pure it’s delicious directly from streams and rivers.
Drivers may experience the passing scene – mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls – barrier-free throughout most of the country, which is sparsely inhabited. With almost half of Iceland’s population of 300,000 residing in Reykjavik, the countryside is dotted with tiny hamlets and picturesque farms along the 'Ring Road' that runs close to the sea on Iceland’s perimeter. Most of the interior is too rugged for passage except in mid-summer.
