Welcome,
Re: Towards a New Communications Model
by Elizabeth Albrycht
For the record, I never intended to continue this discussion here, simply open it. Secondly, before completely dismissing what I am trying to do, perhaps you want to reserve judgment until the end of the week. I am trying to get at something more fundamental than a "new google trick." I'd say your reaction here comes from and is informed by the very "universalist" standpoint that I am trying to provide an alternative to. You are never going to "hear every voice" and of course you are going to "want a filter". I don't agree that filters prevent democracy. I am not interested, in a sense, in these amorphous things you talk about : "most people" and "most blogs". I want to understand what it could mean to talk to/about concrete entitles/people - individuals - vs. this generalized "most".
